Improvement to Southern Lehigh Field Complex

Southern Lehigh School District Stadium Complex Request for Proposal June 13 th , 2022

control plan. The track, bleacher and field work follow it. It will be important to perform the work quickly and get it covered and stabilized to the extent possible. A benefit of the current design is that the stormwater management system is not under the new synthetic field. This allows us to leave the field untouched until we are ready to install the drainage stone, flat panel drains and the turf. Together we also need an understanding of how soils will be moved and relocated during the work. We have also performed and included a “cut-fill” analysis in preparing our proposal and look forward to examining this with you and the Architect to confirm how excess soils might be relocated on the site in lieu of being hauled off at a greater cost. We look forward to speaking and collaborating with you further to refine the budget based on your specific needs and to deliver the project on your desired timeline in 2023. Our goal needs to be “NO SURPRISES” during construction. Our approach is unlike any other. We want to collaborate with you to consider and budget for the possibilities and then work hard to continuously value engineer and generate savings for the District each step of the way. PROCUREMENT

As you know, the economy and supply chain issues require a more proactive approach to construction. Our team has completedmore than $100M in K- 12 work in the pandemic-impacted past 30 months. While big ticket items like bleachers are a long lead items, some of the products necessary to start the project such as stormwater piping can also be a challenge. Fortunately, our team has the greatest buying power and group of

resources available. Together, we have completed hundreds of millions of dollars in K-12 construction in the past 20 years and work with every quarry, supply house and subcontractor in the region. Equally important is that manufacturers and supply houses want to work for us and with us because they know they will be treated fairly, that our designs and schedules are clear, correct, and achievable. This equates to value for the Southern Lehigh School District. In addition to quality products for the entire project, we are prepared to offer the absolute best products for track and field surfaces. We can compete Shaw, FieldTurf, SprintTurf and others you may desire for the project. We are assuming a 2.5inch product is desired for football but assume the surface will be used for multiple sports. We will incorporate a discussion of the options for a shock pad in concert with the product selected and work to increase the warranty from 8 to 10 years or more as part of the project cost. Similarly for the track surface, we will work with you to consider the product and color selections and describe the recoating and replacement timelines to minimize the life cycle cost of the selected system. For bleachers and stadium lights there are options for procurement designed to save the District money. These products are available under our contract and can also be purchased directly on State contract by the District. As an example, this was Catasauqua’s procurement method in 2020. The Miller Team was hired to install the track, field, bleacher, and scoreboard foundations and perform electrical construction and the District purchased the bleachers, lights, and scoreboard directly on individual State contracts,
