For nearly fifteen years D’Huy Engineering, Inc. (DEI) has been providing evaluations, assessments, design, bidding and construction phase engineering services for the Lehigh County Authority in support of its ongoing capital improvement program. Projects completed under this contract include: • Replacement of two 100-foot diameter secondary clarifiers at the Kline’s Island WWTP. • Replacement of three belt filter presses at the Kline’s Island WWTP. • Three separate painting projects at the Water Filtration Plant for removal of deteriorated paint and installation of new epoxy coating system. • Conversion from gas chlorine to sodium hypochlorite at the Kline’s Island WWTP. • Installation of a carbon dioxide feed system at the Water Filtration Plant. • Renovations to three locker room facilities at the Kline’s Island WWTP. • Repairs to and replacement of odor control systems at the Kline’s Island WWTP. • A new 250KW emergency generator and automatic transfer switch at the Kline’s Island WWTP • Replacement of over 50 separate roofs totaling over 80,000 square feet.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT - DELCORAWRTP PLANT UPGRADES

D’Huy Engineering, Inc. (DEI) has been working for the Delaware County Regional Water Quality Control Authority (DELCORA) since 2015. Recently, DEI has been the engineer of record and managed the construction of two major rehabilitation projects at DELCORA’s 44 MGDWestern Regional Treatment Plant (WRTP). These two projects had a combined construction value of more than $30 million. DEI provided full-time, onsite construction management services for the projects. The primary purpose of these two upgrades was to address plant-wide rehabilitation activities to both equipment and structures. Examples of the work designed by DEI include: • Replacement of primary clarifier scum troughs. • A new grease receiving and screening facility. • Reconfiguration of hauled waste receiving stations. • Relining and coating of the primary clarifier influent channel. • Replacement of four 135-foot diameter secondary clarifier mechanisms. • Installation of new ash unloading equipment to convert from a dry to wet system. • New gravity belt thickener and replacement of polymer dosing system. • Concrete repair and interior coating of four circular sludge holding tanks. • Plant-wide utility water upgrades to install stainless steel pipe to replace PVC. • Installation of baffles in existing chlorine contact tanks to eliminate short
