D’Huy Engineering, Inc. was retained by Penn State University’s Berks Campus in 2008 to complete a feasibility study for the design of an athletic facilities campus, a study for the campus’s synthetic turf field and athletic complex. DEI’s services helped provide a new lighted synthetic turf field for students to play soccer, rugby and intramural sports. The field is surrounded by a low fence and walking track, and is served by 365 seat bleachers built into an existing bank located off a main walkway through campus. The new facility, besides hosting school events, has become a focal point and gathering place for the campus community.
