Case study: Upper Dublin School District, Sandy Run Middle School The environmentally-friendly new Sandy Run Middle School employed numerous sustainable planning, design and construction components to achieve LEEDGold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. By seeking the LEED Certification, the District earned a $1.368M grant toward the project from the State Department of Community and Economic development secured by D’Huy Engineering. D’huy Engineering Inc. was engaged early in the planning, scope determination, phasing, and budgeting this state of the art new middle school. The project required a complex phasing plan to keep the school in operationwhile building the 3 story classroom wing on a steep slope site. The project bids were $2 million below budget and the project is currently on schedule for a September 2022 completion. • Pre-Construction Oversight • Project Administration • Sustainability and LEED Certification • Value Engineering • Constructibility Reviews • Multi-Prime Construction Management • Bidding and Procurement • Contractor Management • Startup / Commissioning Coordination
