Structural Design & Analysis (continued)
In 1979, D’Huy Engineering, Inc. (DEI) performed a structural investigation of Yankee Stadium. Since that time, the firm has developed a highly respected reputation in the field of forensic engineering. DEI’s forensic engineering experience ranges from the full investigation of large scale collapses to performance evaluations of specific structural components and building facades. DEI’s uniquely trained experts provide a detailed, innovative and common sense approach to investigation and retrofit design.
Building Structure Investigation & Analysis A majority of D’Huy Engineering, Inc.’s forensic work involves investigating and resolving problems associated with building structures. Proper documentation of existing conditions combined with the understanding of how various structures and individual structural components perform are critical in determining the nature and cause of building problems as well as developing appropriate and cost effective solutions. DEI combines uniquely trained experts, decades of forensic engineering experience and state of the art technology to provide a detailed, innovative and common sense approach to building structure investigation and retrofit design. Our investigations have included issues associated with building movement and cracking, vibrations, settlement, structural stability and other building problems. In addition, we recognize that these types of projects are under- taken on buildings that typically must remain in use. It is always our goal to work with the owner to ensure that our investigations and retrofit solutions can be effectively accomplished while limiting, to the greatest extent pos- sible, inconveniences to ongoing operations.
Restoration & Re-use of Existing Facilities An extension of D’Huy Engineering, Inc.’s brownstone renovation work includes providing design services to restore and rehabilitate existing structures for re-use. Typically these projects involve a change in occupancy or use of a current facility, which often requires re-evaluation
Foundation Systems, Retaining Walls & Sea Wall Structures
D’Huy Engineering, Inc. is experienced in the analysis and design of projects involving earth and water retaining systems, foundations and sea wall structures. Environmental and Civil Engineering firms as well as the Military sector rely on DEI for the design and devel- opment of retaining wall solutions. Our retaining wall

Atlantic Coastline. As dictated by specific project criteria, we have also provided our clients with foundation solutions using deep foundation systems consisting of wood timbers piles, steel mini-pile systems, and precast concrete piles in both land and water applications.
Commercial, Retail, Industrial and Office Facilities D’Huy Engineering, Inc. performs structural design for a variety of commercial, office, retail and industrial buildings. These projects can vary significantly in both structural requirements and overall project scope, encompassing additions, renovations and new construction. A significant aspect of these projects is determining the owner’s priorities relating to cost, schedule, use and life expectancy. Since the structural systems utilized for these projects are dependent on structure type and architectural requirements, clients are appreciative of our experience in determining the most appropriate structural system, the
Specialty Structures D’Huy Engineering Inc.’s unique combination of design and forensic investigation experience has provided our design team with the engineering technical skills to undertake projects that are of a non-conventional nature.
Our emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and innovative yet practical approach to problem solving has garnered DEI a national reputation in forensic engineering. As part of our Forensic Engineering Service, DEI provides detail analyses, in depth field surveys, expert reports, litigation support and expert testimony, as necessary. Our commitment to integrity is the basis for all of our forensic engineering efforts, and we believe this emphasis has been the catalyst for DEI’s remarkable history of success in this area of practice.
