Bethlehem Area School District Stadium
D’Huy Engineering worked closely with the District to plan and coordinate the replacement of this high demand, high profile stadium synthetic turf field. The new state-of- the-art turf was installed during the Summer of 2016 un- der the direction of D’Huy. The turf field along with a new track surface and additional stadium upgrades took place and were ready for use to begin the fall 2016 sports sea- son. The Bethlehem Area School District Stadium proudly continues its role as one of the premiere high school stadi- ums in Pennsylvania.
D’Huy Engineering (DEI) has been the Facilities Engineer for the City of Bethlehem for more than 30 years and is responsible for the planning, de- sign and construction of all new, renovation and maintenance projects for the District and its 30 buildings. This work includes the development of concept plans for all athletic complexes including sports fields, stadiums, locker rooms, gymnasiums and pools. Bethlehem Area School District Stadium was one of the first synthetic surfaces in the Le- high Valley. DEI performed the concept study and cost estimates for this field and has since completed scoreboard, locker room, bleacher, track and press box upgrades. The concept planning, cost estimating and permitting of the Freedom High School soccer field and track venue was also performed by DEI including solar parking canopies for the complex.

CASE STUDY: Nazareth Area School District Baseball Field For years, the Nazareth Area School District worked to find a home for its baseball program. The District used the local borough park for many years which created scheduling conflicts and physical constraints for players and spectators. D’Huy generated a series of concept plans for a new field on separate sites in the area and compared the costs and benefits to a capital project to upgrade and modify the existing borough field. On the basis of the analysis and the input on D’Huy’s conceptual drawings, the District elected to build a new field on existing property to meet its needs. D’Huy performed the design, permitting, bidding and construction management of the new baseball facility opened in 2019.
